Curves Aviation and White Fields Overseas Evangelism joined their efforts to send a volunteer medical team to Haiti in January, 2010. I was overwhelmed by the devastating destruction of lives and buildings. It was our great joy to help in our small way. Hope lives in the smiles of Haitian children.

Honduras - Medical/Music Mission

Whewww... 194 patients in a day and a half in remote villages in the Honduran mountains. Rugged, sun-scorched, sturdy farmers. Wide-eyed children. Some coursed over mountains to come to our make-shift clinic.

Two Thoughts:

1. Our team sacrificed time, money, and many gallons of perspiration to visit these almost forgotten people, but our efforts do not even measure against the sacrifice of Christ.
Nothing else was important to Him compared to the pursuit of the ones He loves. He gave everything to become everything for whomever would believe in Him.

2. I remember the words of Isaiah: "They that wait upon the Lord will renew their strength. They will mount on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint." One woman walked over two hours to wait in our church/clinic. She was dehydrated, on the edge of consciousness from the gruelling journey. We restored her with electrolyte-enriched fluids. She came only for vitamins for herself and her children.

I imagine myself walking, stumbling, dry-mouthed, almost delirious. I find renewed strength in the Lord. If these people can hike such treacherous terrain to wait for me, and a little fluids, rest, and vitamins can renew their strength, how much more can the Lord renew our strength?
